Introducing Captain Storage Lens – Project-wide Visibility Into Object Storage

With Storage Lens, understand, analyze, and optimize storage with 10+ usage and activity metrics and dashboards that aggregate data for your entire project. The dashboard gives you the ability to perform filtering and drill down into your metrics to really understand how your storage is being used. The metrics are organized into categories like data usage and bytes sent and received to allow you to easily find relevant metrics.

Storage Lifecycle Management

Captain Object Storage lifecycle configuration is a collection of rules that define various lifecycle actions that can automatically be applied to a group of objects or buckets. These actions can be either transition actions (which make the current version of the Captain objects transition between various storage classes) or they could be expiration actions (which define when a Captain object expires).

Multipart upload

Captain Object Storage now supports a faster, easier, and more flexible method to upload larger files, known as the “multipart upload” feature. This feature allows you to break the larger objects into smaller chunks and upload a number of chunks in parallel. If any of the chunks fails to upload, you can restart it. Due to the parallel upload process, it is possible to improve the overall upload speed.
