Origin Shield
GjirafaTech Captain CDN now supports Origin Shield, a centralized caching layer, that helps increment cache hit ratio and reduces the load on the origin server. Captain CDN will route all origin fetches through Origin Shield, and only make a request to your origin if the content is not already stored in Origin Shield's cache.
Origin Shield is free of charge and enabled by default.
Web Application Firewall
You can now enable Web Application Firewall when you configure or edit a distribution on Captain CDN. Captain WAF is using OWASP Core Rule Set which is additional layer of security for your distribution that protects from the most common vulnerabilities, including the OWASP Top 10, such as:
- Injection
- Broken Authentication
- Sensitive Data Exposure
- XML External Entities
- Broken Access Control
- Security Misconfiguration
- Cross-Site Scripting XSS
- Insecure Deserialisation
- Using Components with Known Vulnerabilities
- Insufficient Logging & Monitoring
Image Optimizer
Captain CDN announces the release of Image Optimizer, on-the-fly image optimization and manipulation, that automatically transforms your images for faster delivery, and bandwidth saving. You can enable Image Optimizer when updating a distribution on Captain CDN.
